S4C con Amnesty all’Europride 2011 contro omofobia e discriminazioni

Ovunque.

S4C with Amnesty all’Europride 2011 against homophobia and discrimination

The Italian Section of Amnesty International attended the Europride 2011 events in Rome, that ended with an extraordinary colourful parade in Rome last Saturday, June 11, in which activists and supporters of Amnesty International marched behind the chariot of the association with cartoons and slogans like “Love is a human right” and “Human rights are my pride, to show solidarity towards all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) who still, in Europe, are not free to live and express their sexual orientation and gender identity and see a threat to their right to demonstrate freely and safely.

Even today in Russia, Ukraine and Moldova has not yet been possible to organize a Pride, while in several other European countries (including Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) are at risk or events take place without adequate protection from homophobic attacks.

Amnesty International also calls on the Italian authorities to ensure greater safety for LGBT people, as soon as possible by filling the legislative gap established by legislation which does not treat crimes motivated by discrimination on sexual orientation and gender identity to be those based on another type of discrimination, which is currently covered by Law No. 205/1993 c.d. Mancino (the list includes race, nationality, ethnicity and religion but not sexual orientation and gender identity).

Shoot 4 Change was there, alongside Amnesty, with Beatrice Lencioni (member of S4C).

We begin  a journey, alongside Amnesty International, to report and denounce all discrimination and human rights violations.

Everywhere.
