We are thrilled to announce a significant step forward in the project for the Namaqua Kalahari Children’s Home in Gochas, Namibia. This initiative, as you may recall, is led by Shoot4Change Spain in collaboration with the NGO Foundawtion and aims to protect and support 60 vulnerable children of the Nama ethnic group, often victims of abuse, violence, and school dropouts.

Thanks to the vision of Theo Paulina Goliath, former director of the local school, and the dedication of the associations involved, the home will provide shelter, educational programs, artistic activities, and psychological support to help children build a better future.

The children’s home will be completed by January 2025, after four years of planning and construction.

To finalize the project, we still need your support to achieve these goals:

•Provide school materials and operational tools.

•Train local staff for effective and sustainable management.

•Offer educational and therapeutic activities for children in need.

Siamo entusiasti di annunciare un nuovo fondamentale passa in avanti (decisivo) del progetto della Casa di Accoglienza Namaqua Kalahari a Gochas, in Namibia.

Questa iniziativa, come ricorderete, guidata da Shoot4Change Spain in collaborazione con l’ONG Foundawtion, mira a proteggere e supportare 60 bambine e bambini vulnerabili dell’etnia Nama, spesso vittime di abuso, violenza e abbandono scolastico.

Grazie alla visione di Theo Paulina Goliath, ex direttrice della scuola locale, e alla dedizione delle associazioni coinvolte, la casa offrirà alloggio, programmi educativi, attività artistiche e supporto psicologico per aiutare i bambini a costruire un futuro migliore.

La casa di accoglienza sarà completata a gennaio 2025, dopo quattro anni di pianificazione e costruzione e per terminare il progetto abbiamo ancora bisogno di supporto per raggiungere questi obiettivi:

Fornire materiali scolastici e strumenti operativi.
Formare il personale locale per una gestione efficace e sostenibile.
Offrire attività educative e terapeutiche per bambini in difficoltà.

Estamos encantados de anunciar un paso adelante significativo en el proyecto de la Casa de Acogida Namaqua Kalahari en Gochas, Namibia. Esta iniciativa, como recordarás, está liderada por Shoot4Change Spain en colaboración con la ONG Foundawtion y tiene como objetivo proteger y apoyar a 60 niños y niñas vulnerables de la etnia Nama, a menudo víctimas de abuso, violencia y abandono escolar.

Gracias a la visión de Theo Paulina Goliath, exdirectora de la escuela local, y a la dedicación de las asociaciones involucradas, la casa ofrecerá refugio, programas educativos, actividades artísticas y apoyo psicológico para ayudar a los niños a construir un futuro mejor.

La casa estará terminada en enero de 2025, tras cuatro años de planificación y construcción. Para finalizar el proyecto, todavía necesitamos tu apoyo para alcanzar estos objetivos:

•Proporcionar materiales escolares y herramientas operativas.

•Capacitar al personal local para una gestión efectiva y sostenible.

•Ofrecer actividades educativas y terapéuticas para los niños en situación de necesidad.

As you know, Alfons (one of the founding fathers of Shoot4Change and currently leading S4C Spain Team) is one of the most respected and highly appreciated social documentary photographers in Spain and worldwide.

José Bautista is a Multimedia Producer & Film Editor, Filmmaker, Composer and Sound Designer. He’s also the founder of KanseiSounds and Altamar Films co-founder.

The Sleeping Land is an intimate voyage, a ode to daily routine and an evocative litany and to clarify our perception of unknown everyday 28 Siberian people and their issues.

The Project

One hundred years have passed since the Czarist regime was overthrown by the Russian Revolution of 1917. Yet one hundred and thirteen years have gone by since the Trans-Siberian railway line was inaugurated: almost 10.000 km from Moscow down to eastern Asian Vladivostok bordering the Sea of Japan. In this enormous geographic and human context overlapped by current Russian social fabric, the authors of this independent documentary film lead us through simple, melancholic, mundane or dramatic stories using the train as a metaphor. In essence: the journey through Life itself.

An intimate, epic voyage in which the two documentalists do not intend to thoroughly map modern day Russian society but to paint a much more subtle landscape of personal experiences drawn from the people they encounter daily. These are the protagonists of this incredible adventure describing fragments of their past and present lives and guessing at what the future may hold for them. They speak directly to the camera, reaching out to the spectator, sharing their joys and sorrows. All this takes place in the Russian taiga during a harsh and bitter Siberian winter. Nothing else except the forests and the occasional villages and cities in the middle of nowhere.

The Sleeping Land (La Tierra Dormida) is an ode to daily routine, an evocative litany and at the same time a desperate attempt to update and clarify our perception of unknown everyday Siberian issues as well as those of these far and remote eastern regions. This land has always been part of the authors’ travelling imagery for as long as they can remember. A sleeping frozen land waiting for the icy sting to pass, breaking the glacial silence that accompanies it…

A S4C fundraising Calendar / Un Calendario Solidario S4C

Shoot4Change Spain ha participado en la edición del primer calendario solidario de los Mossos d’Esquadra para recaudar fondos contra el cáncer infantil

Los Mossos d’Esquadra de Cataluña han lanzado el primer calendario solidario oficial en apoyo a la lucha contra el cáncer infantil. La recaudación se destinará a la Associació de Familiars i Amics dels Nens Oncològics de Catalunya (AFANOC) y a la Casa Xuklis, especializada en acoger a las familias que necesitan desplazarse para que sus hijos reciban tratamiento en los hospitales de referencia.

Para la edición de este calendario solidario, del año 2014, ha sido imprescindible la colaboración de Shoot4Change Spain que ha puesto a disposición del proyecto a todos sus fotógrafos: Davide Camesasca, Alfons Rodríguez, Marco Ansaloni, Katherin Wermke, Xavi Piera, Eva Parey, Gregorio Fulginiti, Cinzia Tagliabue y David Rodríguez.

Durante las 3 semanas de trabajo, varios de los fotógrafos de Shoot4Change Spain también se han encargado de la realización del making of del calendario para dejar reflejada la ilusión con la que se llevó a cabo el proyecto entre todos los participantes.

En las fotografías aparecen agentes de diversas unidades, como la Canina o la Científica, posando en compañía de niños afectados por el cáncer o que ya se han recuperado de la enfermedad, y sus hermanos. En éste también aparecen, de forma esporádica, Àlex Monner y Joana Valpuig actores de la popular serie de TV3 ‘Polseres Vermelles’.

En tan sólo una semana ya se han conseguido recaudar 30.000€, íntegros para AFANOC y la Casa Xuklis, con la venta de las primeras 3.000 unidades. Tras el éxito, los Mossos d’Esquadra han decidido imprimir 3.000 copias más. Este calendario se puede adquirir por 10€ en las tiendas de El Corte Inglés, en los supermercados Gros Mercat y en las comisarías centrales de cada región policial.

Shoot4Change Spain helps produce the Mossos d’Esquadra first fund-raising calendar in aid of children with cancer.

Catalunya’s Mossos d’Esquadra have launched a fund-raising calendar in aid of children with cancer. The money raised will go to the Associació de Familiars i Amics dels Nens Oncològics de Catalunya (AFANOC) and to Casa Xuklis, which specialises in caring for families who have to travel far from home in order to get the best care for their children.

The NGO Shoot4Change Spain has provided invaluable in producing the calendar through the work of it photographers Davide Camesasca, Alfons Rodríguez, Marco Ansaloni, Katherin Wermke, Xavi Piera, Eva Parey, Gregorio Fulginiti, Cinzia Tagliabue and David Rodríguez.

During the three weeks it took to prepare the calendar, several Shoot4Change Spain photographers also worked on a “making of” which demonstrates the enthusiasm and excitement of everyone involved.

The pictures show officers from units as diverse as dog handlers and forensics posing with children who have recovered from cancer, along with their brothers and sisters. The actors Àlex Monner and Joana Valpuig from the popular TV3 series Polseres Vermelles also make an appearance.

AFANOC and Casa Xuklis raised €30,000 in a single week through the sale of 3,000 calendars. Encouraged by this initial success, the Mossos d’Esquadra have decided to print 3,000 more. It is available priced €10 at El Corte Inglés, Gros Mercat supermarkets and at all regional police headquarters.

‘Living on the Edge ‘ è un progetto fotografico in programma nell’ambito del Circuito 2013 / Fotografia Documental Barcelona, una iniziativa della Fundación Photographic Social Vision per la diffusione e il riconoscimento sociale della fotografia documentaria e il fotogiornalismo di Barcellona.

Il progetto riflette la realtà delle persone che vivono a Nicosia (Cipro), Belfast (Irlanda del Nord), Mitrovica (Kosovo) e Mostar (Bosnia-Erzegovina); quattro città che hanno sperimentato violenti conflitti degli ultimi anni che hanno lasciato ferite profonde e divisioni territoriali.

Il progetto, sviluppato dal fotografo Marco Ansaloni (membro di S4C Spain) e documentato dal giornalista Angelo Attanasio, riflette la paura presente in queste comunità, nonostante tutti gli sforzi che sono stati effettuati per raggiungere accordo pacificatori.

La mostra è promossa da S4C e viene inaugurata l’11 luglio 2013 alle ore 19:30 (e durerà fino al 5 settembre) presso The Private Space Gallery C/ Roc Boronat 37 Poblenou, Barcelona

‘Living on the Edge’ es un proyecto de documentación fotográfica programado en el marco del Circuit 2013. Fotografía Documental Barcelona, una iniciativa de la Fundación Photographic Social Vision para la difusión y el reconocimiento social de la fotografía documental y el fotoperiodismo en Barcelona.

El proyecto refleja la realidad de las personas que viven en Nicosia (Chipre), Belfast (Irlanda del Norte), Mitrovica (Kosovo) y Mostar (Bosnia y Herzegovina), cuatro ciudades que han experimentado violentos conflictos en los últimos años y que han dejado huella tanto en la sociedad actual como en el tejido urbano, quedando divididas en dos partes aisladas.

El proyecto, desarrollado por el fotógrafo Marco Ansaloni y documentado por el periodista Angelo Attanasio, refleja el miedo presente en estas comunidades pese a todos los esfuerzos que se han llevado a cabo para lograr un entendimiento.

Marco Ansaloni (1973, Turin), fotógrafo profesional residente en Barcelona. Sus reportajes se han publicado en diferentes medios de comunicación y editoriales, como National Geographic, Geo, Gruppo Espresso, El Periodico, MO Magazine, RCS, Panorama, Focus, Clio Historia, Rutas del Mundo, Archaeology Magazine, entre otros. Actualmente trabaja como fotógrafo de la agencia de fotoperiodismo Parallelozero de Milan (www.parallelozero.com) y colabora con la ONG de fotografia Shoot 4 Change desde Barcelona (www.shoot4change.net).
