Lori Scott-Johnson (S4C Austin, Texas) just sent us a few images of a very interesting project.

The Joyful Horse Project , founded by Beth Rand, is a horse rescue organization based out of Austin, Texas that finds horses given up for slaughter and abused horses in various circumstances.  The rescued horses are rehabilitated emotionally and physically.

Beth Rand thought why not bring together war veterans and the rescued horses?

That is where the pilot program started.  It is still in it’s infancy and continues to grow.

The program is about bringing together wounded veterans and rescued horses. This program is unique in that the horses benefit too.  They have  emotional and  physical scars just as the veterans do.  It is amazing to

see the power of touch between man and horse.

The thing about this pilot program is its uniqueness.  There are similar programs but this is different in that it helps to heal both man and horse;  A symbiotic relationship between man and horse.

It is about giving purpose to living beings.

Uomini e cavalli (di Lori Scott-Johnson)

Lori Scott-Johnson (S4C Austin, Texas) ci ha appena  alcune immagini di un progetto molto interessante.

Il Progetto Joyful Horse, fondato da Beth Rand, è una organizzazione per il recupero dei cavalli – con sede a Austin in Texas – con la finalità di recuperare cavalli sottratti alla macellazione o comunque  maltrattati o abbandonati.

I cavalli vengono salvati, curati e riabilitati emotivamente e fisicamente.

Beth Rand ha avuto un’idea: perché non fare qualcosa contemporaneamente per i veterani di guerra e i cavalli recuperati?

È qui che il programma pilota nasce. E ‘ancora nella sua fase iniziale ma cresce ogni giorno.
L’obiettivo è creare associare ippoterapia per i veterani di guerra e il recupero dei cavalli stessi, portando tutti a beneficiare del reciproco contatto. Nelle idee della fondatrice, quei cavalli maltrattati hanno ferite simili a quelle dei veterani di guerra. E questi ultimi possono beneficiare dal rapporto di vicinanza con quei magnifici animali.

La caratteristica di questo programma pilota è la sua unicità. Ovviamente esistono programmi simili, ma questo è diverso, in quanto aiuta a guarire sia l’uomo che e cavallo mettendoli in rapporto simbiotico.

Lori ha promesso che tornerà presto a vedere come procede il progetto e ci riferirà.
